The idea of the Outer Space garden shop took root about 25 years ago. In the meantime, through various jobs in the horticulture and design field, I’ve collected new inspirations, building on my original vision. That is, I want to share my passion for nature through cultivation. Tending to our patch of land, we become stewards of our ecosystem; observing and caring for its wildlife, plants and their needs. Mary Oliver’s quote, “attention is the beginning of devotion” captures this relationship. Our attention becomes caring through observation and learning.

How do we want to use design to create our outdoor rooms? Offering furniture, containers, sculpture and inspiration brings me a lot of joy; sourcing what I believe to be beautiful and helpful, and, more practically, providing tools and resources for my community, at an in-town location.

Come linger, engage and see what inspires you as a seasoned or new gardener. Over time I look forward to hosting the community for local expert talks that provoke new ideas for all of us. Tell me what you’d like to learn about!

Look for my original furniture when you visit!
